PHAMBILI SA FOUNDATION

In order to help bring economic transformation and growth to South Africa PHAMBILI SA was created to link together sector specific empowerment platforms with NGO's and government agencies to assist previously disadvantaged, independently owned, entrepreneurs to establish and grow successful businesses.

WHY PHAMBILI SA

The mandate to strengthen previously disadvantaged local economies most often rests with government development agencies & the NGO sector however it is commonly recognised that the private sector are the only people with the money and expertise to successfully drive and develop this sector.
As a model to achieve this franchise and more recently empowerment platforms are models widely seen as one of the safest and surest ways for entrepreneurs to enter the business world, because such businesses are supported by a specialised sector specific business plan and an established business model and brand name. Also once established these businesses also receive ongoing support and mentorship programmes giving them a much high success rate.

The problem is that there is not enough incentive for the private sector to fulfil this role as it cost time & money to deal with these "low- income individuals and areas" so their focus remained on high LSM areas where the money is and continues to stay. With this in mind PHAMBILI SA is currently in the process of being established to link together the privates sector, NGO's and government agencies to work together to assist previously disadvantaged, independently owned, sector specific entrepreneurs, especially those in low income areas, to establish and grow successful businesses.
